Who we are

The Kansas City Web Development Company ("we", "us") operates kcwd.io. This policy explains what information we collect on this site and what we do with it.

Information we collect

• Contact and account details you give us — name, email, company, and messages sent through our contact form, chat, email, or client portal.
• Chat conversations. Our website assistant, Ron, is an AI. Conversations with Ron are stored so our team can follow up and improve service, and are processed by our AI provider to generate responses.
• Client records. If you become a client, we keep a record of our work together — projects, support requests, invoices, and correspondence.
• Payment information. Payments are processed by Stripe. Your card details go directly to Stripe and never touch our servers; we store only invoice status and references.
• Analytics. We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand site traffic. It uses cookies and collects standard usage data (pages visited, approximate location, device type).

How we use it

To respond to you, deliver and support the work you hire us for, invoice you, keep the site secure (including rate limiting and abuse prevention), and understand how the site is used. We do not sell your information, and we do not share it except with the service providers named above (Stripe, Google, our AI and hosting providers) as needed to operate the site.

Cookies

We use a small number of cookies: a session cookie if you sign in to the client portal, an anonymous identifier if you use the chat widget, and Google Analytics cookies. You can block cookies in your browser; the portal and chat may not function without their respective cookies.

Retention & your choices

We keep client records for as long as we work together and as required for tax and legal purposes. You can ask us at any time to see or delete the information we hold about you, or to stop contacting you — email ron@kcwd.io and we'll take care of it.
